Three Tall Tales of Doctor Monsieur Façade is a 30-minute absurdist chamber opera developed in close collaboration with actor-directors from Pantomime Studio of Bartłomiej Ostapczuk, musicians from the Chopin University of Music and Warsaw Chamber Opera, and was performed as part of the FuturOpera event at Warszawska Opera Kameralna in November 2014.
The work centres on Doctor Monsieur Façade, a lonely eccentric stage hand, with the inability to communicate verbally. Through the rattling, squeaking, buzzing and tapping of his vast collection of exquisite noise makers, and with the aid of his on-stage interpreter, Doctor Monsieur Façade retells three extraordinary stories; placing himself as the central protagonist.
